I've currently got 3 bricks left of eley "sport" the $2.50 special per box of 50... great for 50 feet, but I'd like to purchase a case and wondere for the non sponsered shooters what everyone is shoooting?  I currently shoot 100 rounds per practice - would like to find a $400-600 per case opportunity -- suggestions" (Eley Target, Wolf)... I appreciate the input.  Smiley

Olive,
I think there is only one sponsored comepetitor shooting the Snow Country. That would be Kevin. I use Eley Match though it is outside of your quoted price range. In the past I have used SK Match and it does shoot fairly close to the Eley. I did notice a drop in my X count with it but the overall score seemed to remain close. The SK and Wolf brands are I believe the same ammo. Someone may chime in with more info but I think you may find what you are looking for in the SK or Wolf brands. I would love to try some Eley Target but there is none avaible that I know of. Hope this helps.

I've found SK Match for the low $400s for a case.  It shoots reasonably well.  I've used Wolf Match Extra (which when I bought it was only in the $300s for a case) that was really close to the performance of Eley Match.

For this year, I'm finishing loose boxes of Eley Match, the remains of the Wolf Match Extra, some Red Eley that I received for making the Dewar Team, and some left over Lapua Xact from a couple of years ago.  When that is gone, I'll use the SK Match for less important matches (I'll complete the Any-Any agg, too).  The Eley match will likely be used again for the shoot-off.

The only recommendation, is to clean between manufacturers of ammo.  For example, when changing from Eley to Lapua, or Wolf, or SK, I will punch the bore.

Cheers!

PS.  Champion Shooters or Champion's Choice usually have the best prices.

Olive, I've been shooting SK match for the past two years and I find that it shoots very well in my rifle and it is certainly priced right.   I do agree with Leo about cleaning your rifle if changing ammunition.    Different powders, priming compounds and bullet lubes will/can have a detrimental effect on your testing.
